How to use it

  1. Say what the post shows

The dish, the job you finished, the colour, the model of car. That detail is what the specific hashtags are made from.

  2. Add your business and your town

What you do gives you the broad tag, the town gives you the local one, your name gives you your own. Leave the town blank and you get no local tag.

  3. Copy the block

Paste it into your caption. Delete anything that doesn’t fit, and search the rest in the Instagram app before you post.

Examples

Three briefs, and the set each one got back.

A coffee shop

5 hashtags · Kerrytown, Ann Arbor

They typedA new single-origin from Guatemala is on the pour-over bar this week. We brew it by hand and it tastes like cocoa and orange peel.

They got
#specialtycoffee #singleorigin #pourover #annarbormi #quarrylanecoffee

Two tags name what is actually on the bar this week, so the set could not be pasted under another shop's photo.

A landscaper

4 hashtags · Bend, Oregon

They typedWe finished a dry creek bed that carries runoff away from the back of a house. River rock, native grasses, and no lawn to water.

They got
#landscapedesign #drycreekbed #bendoregon #hollowbrooklandscaping

One tag from each group: the category, the job, the town, and their own name.

A hair studio

5 hashtags · Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati

They typedA lived-in copper we did on Tuesday. Grown out on purpose so it still looks right four months between appointments.

They got
#haircolor #livedincopper #growncolor #otrcincinnati #wildseedhairstudio

The colour is the specific tag, because the colour is what the picture is of.

The four groups

Each group says what a tag names. None of them says who it reaches, because that is not something this tool can know.

  1. Broad

    The wider category

The category your business sits in. It is the word for what you sell, not for this particular post.

  2. Specific

    What this post shows

The thing in this particular post: the dish, the finished job, the colour. This is the group that stops your set being interchangeable with every other business in your trade.

  3. Local

    Where you are

Your town or neighborhood, when you give one. It is the only tag in the set that says where the business actually is.

  4. Community

    Your trade and your name

Your trade’s own tag, and your business name as one word, so somebody who already knows you can find everything you have posted.

Common questions

How many hashtags can I use on an Instagram post?

Instagram announced a rollout to five caption hashtags in December 2025, as reported by Social Media Today. Follow the limit shown in your app. This tool returns up to five suggestions, and you can ask for three or four instead.

Should the hashtags go in the caption or the first comment?

Use the caption for tags that describe your post. The December 2025 announcement concerns captions; it does not establish a combined caption-and-comment limit. This tool does not measure whether placement changes reach. Do not rely on the first comment to bypass a limit shown in your app.

Will hashtags get my post or Reel more views?

This tool cannot predict views. It suggests tags that describe your post, without measuring their popularity, reach or performance. Review each suggestion for relevance before posting; a suggested tag is not a promise of more views.

Are these hashtags popular, trending, or safe to use?

We don’t know, and we don’t claim to. These are suggestions written from what you typed. Nothing here counts posts, measures how busy a tag is, ranks one tag above another, or checks whether Instagram has restricted it. Search a tag in the Instagram app before you use it and look at what people are posting under it.

What should I type in the post box?

Describe what is in the picture, in your own words: the dish, the job you finished, the room, the colour, the model of car. That detail is what makes the specific hashtags specific — it is the difference between a set that only fits your photo and one any business in your trade could paste.

Do I have to give my town?

No, it’s optional. Leave it blank and the set simply comes back without a local hashtag; the tool will not guess a place you did not type. Give one and you get a tag that says where the business is, which is the only tag in the set that does.

Can I ask for fewer than five, and can I edit what I get?

Yes to both. Three, four and five are the choices, and a set of three you mean is better than five you don’t. Delete any hashtag that doesn’t fit before you post — the block is plain text and nothing here has to be used as it came.

Is it free, and what happens to what I type?

It’s free and there is no account. There is a daily limit so it stays available for everyone, and the tool tells you when to try again if you reach it. Your business details are sent to Soyla’s generation service and its AI provider to choose the hashtags, and the result stays available to the same browser session for 15 minutes. Leave out private customer information.
